Yesterday morning I wrote a poem about flowers. We have all received bouquets from our loved ones (or maybe not?) and have watched the flowers dry and fall apart within their vase. This of course, spurred a poetic thought in my constantly roaming brain. From those thoughts, birthed the poem “About Your Flowers” which you can read for free on my Vocal Media page. (If you haven’t checked out my Vocal Media Page yet, you are definitely missing out as I share free poetry and book recommendations there!).

He of course, wasn’t thinking any of things I was thinking I was digging the hole and planting them in our yard. We were planting roots together and now we will be able to watch this little plant grow, just as we have watched each other grow over the past 20 years.

With that being said. Maybe it was never about the flowers.
