Camera snaps,

To the smell of grills

In open air,

The sound of laughter

And a distant trumpet,

Reminding the smiling faces

And clinking glasses

To be thankful

For the freedoms

Of another Monday

And a three-day weekend,

To thank the ones

That never have a chance

To return home.
